1. Who We Are
The Service available at webhookwatchtower.co.uk (the “Service”) is operated by Mark Cregan, trading as Webhook Watchtower, based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, or “our”). You can contact us at hello@webhookwatchtower.co.uk.
2. These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and us. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
3. Consumer Users and Business Users
The Service may be used by individuals for personal projects and by businesses or professional users. Some provisions of these Terms apply differently depending on whether you use the Service as a Consumer User or a Business User.
A “Consumer User” is an individual using the Service wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft, or profession.
A “Business User” is a person or organisation using the Service wholly or mainly for trade, business, craft, or professional purposes, including anyone registering on behalf of a company, organisation, partnership, sole trader business, or other legal entity.
If you register on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms, in which case references to “you” include that entity.
If you are a Consumer User, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
4. The Service
Webhook Watchtower is a webhook monitoring, routing, and delivery platform. It allows you to capture incoming webhook events from third-party services, inspect their contents, route them to one or more destination URLs, replay past events, and monitor delivery outcomes.
The Service is provided on an early-access basis. While we operate it with care and attention, it has not been in large-scale production use for an extended period. We recommend treating it accordingly and maintaining your own safeguards for business-critical webhook flows where appropriate.
The Service is not intended to be your sole system of record, permanent archive, guaranteed message queue, backup system, or safety-critical infrastructure. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups, retries, idempotency controls, fallback processes, and monitoring for your own systems and webhook flows.
5. Accounts
You must register for an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration and to keep that information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to:
- receive, route, or store data that you are not lawfully permitted to process;
- transmit malicious code, spam, or unsolicited communications;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or any of its underlying systems or infrastructure;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written consent;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or reproduce any part of the Service;
- resell, sublicence, or offer the Service as a standalone product to third parties without our prior written consent;
- use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we have reasonable grounds to believe you are in breach of this section.
7. Prohibited Data and High-Risk Use
Unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing, you must not submit, route, or store through the Service any payment card data, bank authentication credentials, special category personal data, criminal offence data, children’s data, health data, biometric or genetic data, or other data subject to regulatory requirements that the Service is not designed to meet. This does not prevent the ordinary use of webhook signing secrets, API tokens, or similar credentials in webhook headers as part of normal webhook authentication.
You must not use the Service for emergency, safety-critical, life-critical, medical, transport-control, financial-trading, or other high-risk use cases where failure, delay, duplication, or non-delivery of an event could lead to death, personal injury, serious property damage, or significant financial loss.
8. Plans, Pricing, and Payment
The Service is provided on a subscription basis. Available plans, features, and current pricing are described on the pricing section at webhookwatchtower.co.uk/#pricing. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). For Consumer Users, prices will be shown inclusive of VAT where VAT applies. For Business Users, VAT may be shown separately where permitted. We will show the total amount payable before you complete your purchase.
Subscriptions are billed in advance, either monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee on each billing cycle.
If a payment fails, access to paid features may be suspended. We will notify you and provide a reasonable opportunity to update your payment details before your account is downgraded or terminated.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal within the Service. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, unless these Terms or applicable law give you an earlier right to cancel. Except where required by law or expressly stated in these Terms, we do not provide refunds for unused days in a billing period. On cancellation, your workspace will revert to the Scout (free) plan.
If you are a Consumer User and purchase a paid subscription online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract. By subscribing to a paid plan, you request that we begin providing the Service immediately. If you cancel during any applicable cancellation period after we have started providing the Service, we may charge you for the Service provided up to the point of cancellation, where permitted by law. This does not affect your statutory rights if the Service is faulty, not as described, or not provided with reasonable care and skill.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days’ prior notice sent to your registered email address. Price changes will take effect from your next renewal date after the notice period has elapsed.
9. Plan Limits, Rate Limits, and Rejected Events
Each plan carries defined limits on monthly events, sources, destinations, team members, event retention, and delivery retries. When a limit is reached, the relevant action (such as event ingestion or adding a new source) will be rejected until you upgrade your plan or the limit resets at the start of your next billing period. We do not charge overage fees.
Each ingest endpoint is subject to a per-source rate limit to protect the availability of the Service for all users. Limits are set well above the volumes produced by standard webhook providers under normal operating conditions. Requests that exceed the rate limit will receive an HTTP 429 response. If your use case requires sustained ingest volumes beyond the available plan limits, please contact us.
Where an event is rejected because of plan limits, rate limits, invalid configuration, authentication failure, suspension, or termination, we are not required to store, queue, replay, or retry that event. Your originating webhook provider may or may not retry rejected requests depending on its own settings and policies.
Event retention periods are enforced automatically by a scheduled process. Events that exceed your plan’s retention window are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. You are responsible for exporting or otherwise preserving any event data you wish to retain beyond those periods.
10. Data You Submit
You retain ownership of all webhook event data you send through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and forward that data solely as necessary to operate the Service on your behalf.
You are solely responsible for the destination URLs you configure. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from the behaviour of your destination endpoints, including failed deliveries, incorrect processing of events, or any data received by those endpoints.
You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data contained in webhook payloads is processed in accordance with applicable data protection law, including UK GDPR. Where the Service processes personal data on your behalf, we act as a data processor and you act as the data controller. Our data processing activities are described in our Privacy Policy. If you are a Business User and require a data processing agreement, please contact us.
You must not use the Service to transmit data that you do not have the right to process, including personal data obtained without a lawful basis or in breach of third-party rights.
11. Security
We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect data you submit to the Service against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access.
You are responsible for securing your account, users, credentials, source services, destination endpoints, signing secrets, API keys, and configurations. You must notify us promptly at hello@webhookwatchtower.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account or webhook configuration.
12. Service Availability
We will use reasonable endeavours to keep the Service operational and available. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous availability. The Service depends on third-party infrastructure providers; their availability and performance are outside our direct control.
Webhook delivery can fail or be delayed for reasons outside our control, including third-party service outages, source-provider behaviour, destination endpoint behaviour, network issues, authentication failures, rate limits, invalid configuration, or maintenance. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups, retries, idempotency controls, fallback processes, and monitoring for your own use case. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where practicable. Our liability for failures of availability or delivery is limited as set out in section 15.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. The Service is provided on an early-access basis and may contain bugs, interruptions, limitations, or changes. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your specific requirements, that all webhook events will be delivered successfully, or that the Service will be free from errors, interruptions, or data loss.
For Business Users, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations, or other terms that may apply to the Service, and you confirm that in entering into these Terms you have not relied on any statement, representation, or assurance other than as expressly set out in these Terms. If you are a Business User and are dissatisfied with the Service, your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
For Consumer Users, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your statutory rights.
14. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its underlying software, design, trademarks, and content, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You may use the Service only as expressly permitted by these Terms.
15. Limitation of Liability
If you are a Consumer User, we are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both you and we knew it might happen. We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, for losses caused by your own configuration, source services, destination endpoints, internet connection, third-party services, or use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or for business losses where you use the Service for commercial, business, or resale purposes.
If you are a Business User, to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, will not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the three calendar months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We will not be liable to Business Users for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special loss or damage, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of business, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
If you are a Business User, any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service must be brought within 12 months of the date on which the circumstances giving rise to the claim first arose. Claims brought after that period are permanently barred, except where applicable law does not permit such a limitation.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of Northern Ireland.
16. Indemnity
If you are a Business User, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms; (b) any data you submit to or route through the Service, including any claim that such data was processed without a lawful basis or in breach of third-party rights; (c) the behaviour of destination endpoints you configure; or (d) your breach of applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Service.
We will give you prompt notice of any claim subject to this indemnity and reasonable cooperation in its defence, and we will not settle any such claim in a way that admits fault on your behalf without your consent, which must not be unreasonably withheld.
17. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where that failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to failures of third-party hosting, infrastructure, or network providers; internet or telecommunications outages; power failures; denial-of-service or other malicious attacks; acts of government; labour disputes; fire, flood, or other natural events.
18. Termination, Data Export, and Deletion
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by applicable law, or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users.
We may discontinue the Service with 30 days’ written notice to your registered email address.
You are responsible for exporting any data you wish to keep before cancellation, termination, expiry of retention periods, or deletion of your workspace. On termination for any reason, your access to the Service will cease and your data will be handled in accordance with our data retention practices set out in the Privacy Policy. Backup copies may remain for a limited period and will be deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of backup rotation.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice within the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The current version of these Terms is always available at webhookwatchtower.co.uk/terms. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of them.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Northern Ireland. If you are a Business User, you and we each submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland to resolve any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these Terms in your country of residence or any other relevant jurisdiction.
If you are a Consumer User resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and you will benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of the law of that part.
21. General
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, reorganisation, sale of assets, financing, or transfer of the Service.
Notices may be sent by email to your registered email address or to the contact email listed in these Terms. Except as expressly stated, no person other than you and us has rights under these Terms.
Any provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including payment obligations, intellectual property, liability, indemnity, governing law, and general provisions.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, although nothing in this section limits the rights of Consumer Users in respect of anything we have said or written that you have relied on.
22. Contact
